Accelerator mode

Summary status of machine state. For info only, not used in control system for conditioning operations.

Concatanate operational-status.accelerator-mode

The OP NO_OP allows RBAC to condition device access. NO_OP would be a free for all. OP would imply a certain level of protection.

NO_OP.* - free access

OP.* - beam mode rules apply.

Beam mode

These would not necessarily coincide with the active sequencer "aggregate". Imagine circulating intermediate in ring 2, injecting pilot in ring 1.

Mode Name Comment
SETUP possible beam in transfer lines with TEDs in. Includes pre-injection plateau and injection plateau - no beam
INJECTION PILOT
INJECTION INTERMEDIATE If either b1 or b2 will be injected or are ciruclating at this intensity
INJECTION NOMINAL If either b1 or b2 will be injected or are circulating at this intensity
PREPARE RAMP
RAMP
FLAT TOP including squeeze preparation
SQUEEZE
ADJUST
STABLE BEAMS
UNSTABLE BEAMS
BEAM DUMP before programmed dump, after emergency dump
RAMP DOWN

RECOVERY quench, emergency beam dump, post mortem etc

INJECT AND DUMP either ring
CIRCULATE AND DUMP either ring

ACCESS short, long, patrol etc.
SHUTDOWN
COOLDOWN ring wide - coming back from shutdown

Could also have a beam status (on or off).... could be of use to RBAC

Concatanate beam-status.beam-mode

Again BEAM_ON BEAM_OFF allows one to condition device access with wild cards - in all beam on modes (BEAM_ON.*) - things are screwed down - beam-off (BEAM_OFF.* ) would allow expert access for example.

Would cover dry runs - BEAM-OFF.RAMP

Could think about having....

Sub sector modes as defined in LHC-CI-ES-0001 (Robin)
Warm stand-by
Cool-down
Cold stand-by
Operation with magnets powered (Cycling)
Operation with magnet powered and beam (Global)
Quench and quench recovery (Quench)
Warming-up
